Colin Burgin-Plews

By day he’s Colin, by race day he becomes ‘The Man in the Big Pink Dress’. Colin is well known across the North East fundraising circuit for his work with numerous charities over the years. He’s fairly difficult to miss too, given he’s 6ft 7 and dresses in huge dress’s while running! Colin began working with St Benedict’s Hospice in 2019 after donning a beautiful ‘Sunflower Dress’ to help raise the profile of the hospice whilst tackling the Sunderland 10k. Since then he’s helped at numerous events and is a proud St Benedict’s Hospice supporter. He said “After being approached by the hospice last year, I was in awe of the work that goes in to all that they do here. I’ve supported so many people battling cancer for years and knowing that there are hospices out there like St Benedict’s Hospice to help with peoples treatment, care and all in a compassionate way is fantastic. I’m so proud to be associated with the hospice and hope we continue to work together for a long time yet”.

Currently he’s on dress 71 with £126,000 raised.
